Birkenhead School Pictorial History - Part 1
This 128 page A4 size book is exceedingly good value at £10. It was published in September 2006 to coincide with the Centenary celebrations of the OBS. Unlike ‘One in Heart’, a history of the School which was published in the 1960s, the new book focuses on its chronological history and contains over 200 photographs of the scholars, masters, buildings, sports’ teams, CCF etc. It also contains photographs and information about the Prep and a chapter on the history of the OB Rugby Club, together with team and action photographs. Videos One in Heart was made in the 1960s and contains an account of events at the School, the OBS and Rugby Club and of Birkenhead life. (23 minutes). The film was shot in colour on professional quality equipment by OBs. A copy of the film came to light in the 90s and was subsequently transferred to video.
