OBS Weekend 2018 Sports Results and photos
Friday 7th to Sunday 9th September 2018
The weekend commenced on Friday 7th September with OB Brigadier Ian Huntley of the Royal Marines giving the first Nicholls' lecture of the new term to the sixth form.He spoke on "How [not] to be a bad leader"

In the evening in a change from the usual format OBs joined the Leavers Chapel Service where OB the Rev'd Roger Clarke, Chaplain to the Lord Bishop of Chester, blessed the new font presented by the OBS. Surprisingly, until now, the Chapel font was borrowed from a church in Birkenhead.
The Service was followed by the Leavers' Presentation.
The weather was not kind for Saturday's events as it was overcast with frequent heavy showers.
A group of prefects offered guided tours of the School for those who were prepared to brave the weather.
Archives was open for OBs to view the displays, search for information or generally reminisce whilst partaking of coffee and biscuits.
The OBS AGM commenced at 12:30 in the meeting room above the School Library.
Roger Ewing, William Nute and David Rule stood down from Council and in their place, Daniel Ellis, Josh Stirrett and Jenifer Taylor were elected to Council. So the Council is as follows:
Chairman - Will Roberts
Secretary - Andrew Maxwell
Treasurer - Trevor Mathew-Jones
Members - Daniel Ellis, Tom Harrison, Jim McGrath, Kirsten stewart, Josh Stirrett and Jennifer Taylor.
A proposed ammendment to the Constitution in which the word "Old" would be dropped form the Society's name was discussed with many varying views from members. In the end it was decided Council should give the proposal further consideration.
The meeting was then addressed by the Headmaster, Paul Vicars.

An excellent buffet lunch was provided by the School's new caterers.
In the evening OBs and partners enjoyed an excellent meal in the Dining Hall which had been refurbished by the new caterers over the summer. After the meal the Headmaster gave an address which ended with presentations to the outgoing Chairman and his wife, Mr. & Mrs. W. R. Ewing.
